Solar panels

Your system, checked by someone who works on them every day.

I'm an electrician by trade, and in my job I certify solar PV systems. With the drone I look at your panels up close without climbing onto the roof, and I tell you what I see, with clear photos and videos.

Electrician since 2019I know solar PV systemsA2 pilot · registered with d-flight

What I check

What I look at from above

A close-up visual check of everything that can be seen from outside.

Dirt, leaves and bird droppings

What builds up on the modules and takes light away from the system.

Broken or cracked glass

After a hailstorm, to show your technician or your insurer.

Fixings and exposed cables

Brackets, clamps and cables visible from outside, including those chewed by animals.

New shading

Trees that have grown, aerials or chimneys that shade part of the system.

Nests under the modules

Twigs and straw poking out from under the panels: from above you spot them straight away.

The roof around them

Tiles, gutters and flashing near the panels.

I don't use a thermal camera and I don't do any work on the system: I tell you what I see, and the assessment and any work are up to your technician.

What you receive

Numbered photos, with two lines on each

Sharp photos and videos in your Client Area within 5 working days, with a short note on what I saw.

Ready to pass on to your installer, your building manager or your insurer.

Frequently asked questions

Before you book

Do you use a thermal camera?

No, my drone doesn't have a thermal camera. A thermal survey needs a technician with dedicated equipment.

Will you tell me whether the system needs repairing?

I point out what I see and the most common problems. The official assessment and the decision on any work are up to your technician or installer.

Do you need permission to fly over my house?

I only fly over a building with the consent of its owner or manager, and I first check on d-flight that flying is allowed in the area.

When will I get the photos?

Within 5 working days, in your Client Area, ready to view and download.
